About Geonet
Founded in Ireland and active across Europe, Geonet brings together software engineering, applied AI, geospatial intelligence, and automation to deliver digital platforms that serve real societal needs — validated through competitive national and EU R&D funding.
Our Foundation
Geonet's technical foundations were forged through competitive national R&D funding in Brazil — specifically the FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation) programme, one of the most rigorous research grant bodies in Latin America. Succeeding in that environment demanded the same engineering discipline, documentation standards, and delivery rigour that Horizon Europe projects require — and that culture is now embedded in everything we build.
Since entering the European market, Geonet has built its capability set specifically around the technology domains and compliance requirements central to Horizon Europe Clusters 1, 2, and 4 — and is actively seeking its first consortium engagements.
What Drives Us
We choose projects that serve health, culture, civic participation, and the environment — not just commercial imperatives.
Our engineering discipline, documentation standards, and delivery processes are aligned with the requirements of EU and national R&D funding bodies.
We contribute as coordinators, WP leaders, or members — committed to every consortium's shared goals throughout the project lifecycle.
Products & Services
Every engagement is custom-engineered to the project's technical, regulatory, and research context — whether a Horizon Europe work package, a complex R&D initiative, or a commercial product launch.
Platform Engineering
Geonet designs and builds secure, scalable digital platforms from the ground up. Our cloud-native architecture grows with your project — from a research pilot to national-scale production. We cover the full engineering lifecycle: requirements analysis, UX/UI design, backend development, DevOps pipelines, and production deployment with ongoing operational support.
Applied AI & Data Services
We integrate AI and ML capabilities directly into platform workflows — from NLP-driven text analysis and smart recommendations to pattern detection across large research datasets. Our multilingual pipelines are designed for the diverse linguistic contexts of EU research, enabling real-time intelligent search and data-driven decision-making at scale.
Geospatial Systems
Our geospatial services deliver real-time interactive maps and rich geographic data visualisation built on platform architecture forged through competitive national R&D programmes. From community mapping in civic engagement projects to environmental monitoring dashboards, we transform location data into actionable spatial intelligence — accessible on any device, in any language.
Compliance & Integration
Every system we build is GDPR-compliant from the architecture level. We specialise in seamless API integration between heterogeneous platforms, legacy systems, and EU data sources. Our WCAG-compliant, multilingual interfaces (18+ languages) ensure your platform reaches all intended users regardless of ability, device, or language background.
Automation Technology
Geonet designs and deploys automation systems that eliminate manual, repetitive work from your operations — freeing teams to focus on higher-value activities. This spans workflow orchestration, event-driven trigger systems, robotic process automation (RPA), and intelligent data pipelines connecting disparate tools without human intervention. All solutions carry the same GDPR-by-design and cloud-native principles that underpin everything we build.
Marketing Automation
We engineer marketing automation platforms that turn audience data into personalised, timely engagement at scale — without manual effort. This includes CRM integration, automated lead nurturing sequences, AI-powered audience segmentation, A/B testing pipelines, and analytics dashboards that give marketing teams a single coherent view of performance across all channels.
Emerging Technologies
Geonet brings expertise in emerging technology domains increasingly central to Horizon Europe research: building digital twin representations for monitoring and simulation of complex systems; and applying distributed ledger technology for data provenance, audit trails, and trustless data sharing across multi-institution consortia.
We respond to all serious enquiries within 48 hours.
Research & Innovation
Research and innovation is not a side activity at Geonet — it is the lens through which we design every platform we build. We are structured, technically equipped, and culturally aligned to serve as a high-performing SME partner in Horizon Europe consortia. Our expertise spans the full technical stack that research projects demand: from cloud-native platform engineering and applied AI to geospatial systems, IoT integration, and GDPR-by-design compliance — all delivered with the documentation rigour, ethical AI compliance, and FAIR data standards that Horizon Europe calls demand.
How We Contribute
Geonet is structured to work closely with research institutes, universities, and scientific institutions across Europe — delivering the technical infrastructure that ambitious research projects depend on.
We support research projects in conceptualising and building custom digital platforms — meeting the strict technical standards required by EU and national funding bodies, including OpenAIRE and FAIR data compliance.
We integrate mechanisms for data collection and analysis into every platform — from behavioural analytics and interaction logs to survey responses and geospatial data for peer-reviewed publication.
We embed AI and machine learning directly into research platforms — NLP-based text analysis, smart pattern detection, and predictive modelling compliant with European ethical AI guidelines.
Geonet contributes to deliverable preparation, milestone reporting, and technical documentation — ensuring outputs are suitable for scientific publication and EU Commission reviews.
